Maruti Suzuki Baleno 22′

2022 has seen many important launches so far, however one which is set to storm the market is the brand new Maruti Suzuki Baleno, sold via NEXA dealerships.
Carrying the moniker of the best-selling premium hatchback, the new Baleno has a lot of weight on its shoulders to impress lakhs of Indians.
Maruti Suzuki recently opened up bookings and has been dropping hints and teasers highlighting certain elements and stand-out features on the new Baleno.

Variants: Like the existing Baleno, the new one will also be offered in 4 trim levels named Sigma, Delta, Zeta & Alpha. All the variants will come with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard, however, the CVT gearbox will now be dropped. A brand new AMT gearbox will replace it and will be available on all variants except Sigma. An issue with the existing Baleno was the CVT creating a high price point, dissuading automatic buyers. The AMT is aimed to bring costs down and make all variants of the car more accessible.

Visuals: The exterior will feature an update that will make the Baleno a sharper-looking car. The curvier nose now will get flatter and wider which will look bolder. The taillights too debut a mini XL-6 like L-shaped arrangement which looks fresh. The interior will also be updated, with the air vents moving below a central floating screen.

Feature Rich: The 2022 Baleno will feature wireless charging, wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto amongst more goodies. The car will feature a larger, floating screen with a fresh interface, shared with Toyota. The interface is said to be cosmetically different between both the companies, however they will offer the same features.
The car is also confirmed to feature a heads-up display unit as a stand-out feature.

Safety: The 2022 Baleno will take a step up in the safety department as well. With the top model now featuring 6 airbags, ESP is also rumored to be part of the package. Along with this, upgraded quality of steel will be used for manufacturing. The HUD will also help in driver focus and will lead to easier access to information.

Engine Options: The 2022 Baleno will continue to be paired with the 90hp, 113nm 1.2L DualJat petrol motor with a 12V mild-hybrid tech. The 83hp, K12N petrol engine has not been confirmed as of now.

Rivals: The Baleno will continue to fight against the Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz, Honda Jazz, Volkswagen Polo & it’s twin the Toyota Glanza. While the older Baleno was the value pick of the lot, the new more feature rich model could ask for a premium. Then again, the AMT will bring down the prices of the Baleno in an overall manner.

The 2022 Baleno is now open for bookings on the NEXA website online.
