2021 Volkswagen Tiguan officially revealed

VW India launched the 2021 Facelift Tiguan in India recently. The German SUV will only be available in a single fully loaded Elegance trim.

The Tiguan is based on the MQB platform and receives a few cosmetic, interior and power unit changes. It is also now available at a more attractive price tag of 31.99 lakh (ex showroom)

The front now gets a fresh fascia and bumper featuring Matrix LED headlights.

The rear features L-shaped tail lights. The rear also features Skoda-like, Volkswagen lettering spread on the boot. The side profile also receives smarter looking 18-inch alloy wheels.

 

The inside of the Tiguan now comes with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment head unit. Also on offer is a 3 zone climate control now controlled by a touch panel and a digital instrument cluster. The driver’s seat is now an 8-way power adjustable unit. The tiguan also gets a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting and connected car tech.

However the biggest update is under the hood. A 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine makes a debut and puts out 187hp and 320nm. This power is delivered to all four wheels via the loved 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox.

The Tiguan comes in seven shades namely, Nightshade Blue, Pure White, Oryx White, Deep Black, Dolphin Grey, Reflex Silver and Kings Red.

Deliveries of the new Tiguan will commence from mid-January 2022.
